Weekly Horoscope December 5 – 11, 2022

Here’s your Weekly Horoscope December 5 – 11, 2022.

This week is a transition week. We move out of one season of astrology into the next. And this highlights the joy and gift of astrology for me, that there truly is a time and a season for all things. And that those times and those seasons are not a mystery of privileged knowledge available to a trusted few. Me and you, we can know the time and the season. Which leads into the adage that says, “this, too, shall pass.” I told my dad the other day “and yea, sometimes we pass right along with it.” Funny. Dark. True.

This week we move out of Mars dominance into a Jupiter dominated sky. Themes are: the status quo, indoctrination, and trust.

  • 5 – Venus in Sagittarius
  • 6 – Mercury square Jupiter
  • 7 – Sun opposite Mars; Full Moon in Taurus
  • 9 – Venus square Jupiter

So, it’s a new season. We leave behind the dominance of Mars. The disconnection and severance, the disruption and conflict. We return to a familiar passageway, one we traverse each year. From Jupiter to Saturn, to Saturn to Jupiter. We’ve been here before. 2019 into 2020 circumstances and stories surface. Familiar people and themes, but a new setting. We are still in the pandemic that we had no idea was coming at the end the 2019.

A building stellium in Sagittarius lends fuel to a recently moving forward Jupiter in Pisces. Pisces hasn’t had much pull since Mars left the sign earlier this year in June. But now, the sky aligns in favor of Jupiter. The background soundtrack that’s underscored this year comes to the fore, loud and clear. We are confronting skepticism: the disbelief of our own bodies, the withholding of information that would permit us to name and trust what we feel.

What would make it all make sense? What is the thread that would reveal the context that explains why?

Before we get there, we have one last piece to wrap up in this Mars story. The full moon in Taurus on Wednesday shows clearly the power of the status quo. These are the social norms that shackle us in a past that has quickly become irrelevant to our present and future. Especially when those social constructs are fed to us via indoctrination. We doubt our own intentions and interpret ourselves and our experiences through the story of national identities and religious doctrines. And half the time we cannot tell the difference between the two. Which one is a political ideology, a national identity, and which one is a religious doctrine?

  • What convictions have I taken for granted as social norms that are in fact someone else beliefs I’ve had indoctrinated into me?
  • What role have I played in imposing these social norms on others?
  • When and how have I rebuked others for not behaving or looking like I think they should based on their gender or race?
  • How am I coming to terms with the shame I feel when I don’t live up to what is expected of me based on my gender, race, or class identity?
  • What does it look like to be curious towards my own intentions?
  • How do the intentions I assign my own actions negate the truth of what I feel and know in and through my body?
  • What does trust mean to me? How do I know when you trust someone?
  • What does self trust mean to me? How do I know when I trust myself?

Weekly Horoscope November 28 – December 4, 2022

Here’s your Weekly Horoscope November 28 – December 4, 2022.

This week is the culmination of what’s been building since mid-October: oppositions between planets in Scorpio and Mars (now retrograde) in Taurus.

Themes are: Emotional security vs physical safety and recognizing self-abandonment.

What situations in your life are reaching a culmination of tension and intensity this week?

  • November 28 – Mars (Rx) trine Saturn
  • November 29 – Mercury opposite Mars (Rx)
  • November 30 – Venus opposite Mars (Rx)
  • December 2 – Mercury in Sagittarius

The opposition aspect is a confrontation between planets in signs that share the same task. Scorpio and Taurus share the fixed task. Fixed signs (Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, Aquarius) ask:

  • Who must I be in order to survive?
  • How do I know who I am?
  • Which me is the real me?

Taurus deals with the identities assigned to our physical appearance and the identities assigned to the behaviors and habits we engage in. Its gift is approval, which is to be liked and accepted based on who/what we look like we are. Scorpio deals with the identities assigned to our biological and emotional expressions. Its gift is emotional boundaries, which is to center one’s own feelings as a metric for whether or not a person is safe or dangerous.

What happens when who/what you look like you are contradicts who you actually are? And what about when you are perceived as a threat because of who/what you look like you are?

What about when other people become a threat to you because they perceive you as a threat?

The moral value assigned to biological and emotional expressions currently means that trans people are perceived as a threat to status quo of power. The status quo is the enforcement of gender beginning en utero. We have crafted fantastical machines that can look inside the body of a pregnant person, primarily for the purposes of examining the fetuses genital. We cause wildfires that destroy people’s homes and poison the water supply as a way to “celebrate” the genitals of a fetus. Which might leave you wondering what the real threat is…

Even one’s experience of and response to the emotion of fear becomes associated with our identity. One’s sanity is up for debate if one changes their behavior based on their own subjective perception of fear.

This is just a couple examples of how one person or group of people’s bodies become perceived as a threat based on the identity assigned to that body/behavior.

  • Where in your life are you being challenged to develop the emotional fortitude required to trust your body in the midst of social pressure to conform?
  • On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the strongest: How capable are you of maintaining your emotional truth when other people appear to feel differently than you?
  • What behaviors do you engage in as an expression of this capability, or lack thereof?
  • Which is more important to you, feeling physically safe or feeling emotionally secure?
  • How do you know when you are emotional secure?
  • How do you know when you are physically safe?

Weekly Horoscope for November 21-27, 2022

Here’s your Weekly Horoscope for November 21-27, 2022

This week with Mercury and Venus conjoined in Scorpio, Jupiter stationary direct in Pisces, and a New Moon + stellium in Scorpio, the sky is dominated by the tool Water.

Themes are: Emotional presence and awareness, listening to your body, and discerning threats.

Weekly Horoscope November 21-27, 2022

  • 21 – Mercury conjunct Venus
  • 23 – Jupiter in Pisces, Stationary Direct; New Moon in Scorpio

The gift of Water Is to be affected by your body. The wound of water is to be disarmed of our connection to our bodies. Being disarmed happens when we perceive our bodies, our emotions, and feelings as a threat to our safety/survival rather than the external person or force that is engendering those feelings.

  • When the need to be present to and aware of your body is blocked by neglect and coddling, how do you know what your body needs? (Cancer/Moon)
  • When you are gaslit out of your ability to interpret the messages your body communicates through its sensations and functions, how do you know who to trust? (Pisces/Jupiter)
  • When you are shamed out of your feelings and your ability to feel yourself as separate from others, how do you know who you are? (Scorpio/Mars)

We cope with this by numbing, or pacifying, which in this context means to avoid one feeling by submersing ourselves in a different feeling.

  • Feeling dysregulated and out of control of your body and feelings? That’s where we numb/pacify with indulgence and sometimes addiction. That means more food, more spending, more sex, more alcohol, more going out, more sleeping–never enough. (Cancer/Moon)
  • Feeling like you’re being lied to because others are withholding the truth? That’s where we numb/pacify with suspicion, distrust that borders on paranoia. That means nothing is as it appears,. Everything is a conspiracy or plot. No one is to be trusted, not even yourself. (Pisces/Jupiter)
  • Feeling alienated because others perceive your differences as a threat? We numb/pacify with isolation and self abandonment, centering the perceptions others have of us over our own perceptions and feelings about who we are. (Scorpio/Mars)

Numbing/pacifying is a useful tool and necessary coping/survival strategy. It’s one that systems of power compel is to rely on in ways that prevent access to that gift of being affected by our bodies.

But much like when the local anesthetic wears off, the injury still needs to heal. And sometimes, we might create another injury by not recognizing the injury that’s there by locating the pain and adjusting our behavior to give it time to heal.

  • What behaviors do you gravitate towards to pacify feelings of distrust and suspicion? Alienation and shame? Needing but not having or not knowing what you need?
  • What feelings/emotions do those behaviors give you?
  • What structural realities in the world are keeping you from having the time, money, social support, and will to be with your body and your feelings without numbing or pacifying?
  • What self discoveries have you experienced over the past month that have made you or parts of your experience make more sense to you? Do you trust the judgments you’ve formed during this time? Or do you feel like you need more information or external validation to be certain?

Weekly Horoscope for November 14-20, 2022

Here’s your Weekly Horoscope for November 14-20, 2022

This week leads us into the next major phase of astrology of 2022. Venus and Mars duke it out now through mid-December. Now, we must develop a tolerance for difference.

How do you make room for others’ differences (AND your own!) without interpreting them as a threat, or shaming and rebuking them into conforming to what you believe to be “right”?

Weekly Horoscope, November 14-20,2022. 15-Venus Trine Jupiter. 16-Mercury Trine Jupiter, Sun in Scorpio. 20-Sun Trine Jupiter

This week’s themes (and through the rest of the month) are: Emotional boundaries and emotional resistance, shared social, ecological, and biological threats, alienation and isolation, protection

Eclipse season Fall 2022 has required us to minimize our differences and magnify our commonalities in order to strategize. Where there have been elections, where workers are organizing, and other oppressed groups are consolidating power towards a common aim, the nuances of individual differences are disregarded for the greater good.

Proximity to (being in relationship and community) other humans guarantees feeling feelings, no matter the nature of the relationship or level of intimacy. Whether it’s humiliation, rejection, invisibility, or alienation, we cope by abandoning our most authentic selves. The overwhelm from those feelings, lack of coping skills, and the real danger of vulnerability is enough to compel us into isolation, recoiling from authentic connection.

This is especially the case when we get the message loud and clear that who we are, who or what we look like we are, who other’s think we are, and even who we see and feel ourselves as is not welcome. Even the most “free” and “real” among us know that we need each other to survive. And that need forces us to (intentionally or unintentionally) forgo the parts of ourselves that we can bring with us into relationships and community.

  • How shall we be different together? Or, must we all conform to the same image, a homogenous society of clones, in order to be together in relationship and community?
  • How shall we feel differently together? Or, must we disregard our bodies and take on the same emotional and biological reality?
  • How shall we see differently together? Or, must we share the same perceptions, even if it means disregarding our individual perceptions?
  • How shall we appear differently together? Or, must we all express ourselves the same way, concealing our differences to the point that we abandon any and all authenticity?

Weekly Horoscope for November 7-13, 2022

Here’s your Weekly Horoscope for November 7-13, 2022

This week is jam packed. Stories that have been building since mid-October are reaching a culmination. This weeks themes are power, consensus, and control.

8 – Full Moon + Lunar Eclipse in Aries, Mercury conjunct Sun
10 – Mercury square Saturn
11 – Sun square Saturn, Venus in Scorpio
13 – Mars (Rx) in Taurus, Mercury in Scorpio

The one who has power does not always have control. When you have power you have the resources, skills, or fuel to execute something. When you have control, you are in the position to determine whether or not that thing gets executed. Ideally, we’d like to have both power and control.

Every time you see the word “square” here, it means that there is a struggle between those who have power and those who have control. Right now the sky favors those who have power.

Right now, power looks like consensus, collaboration, cooperation. We can see this with union fever still building while union crushing tries to keep up.

You might feel thwarted trying to gain control alone. Co-regulation (co-control/self-control) is not only about your internal emotional state and bodily functions. It’s also about how we manage resources and impose order and structure on the external/material world.

Tuesday’s full moon + lunar eclipse is a turning point in the season. Venus has been dominant (all the themes mentioned above.) The full moon shows Mars taking the reins. A stellium in Scorpio begins to build with Venus and Mercury entering Scorpio.

Mars dominating the late fall focuses on emotional boundaries, self preservation, and bodily autonomy. Whether it’s abortion, vaccines, or masks, bodily autonomy has been a major focus especially since we had eclipses in Scorpio and Taurus (June 2020 – May 2022.)
